Summertime preparation for children with autism spectrum disorders | spectrum, summertime, autism - Brownsville Herald

Summertime poses its own challenges for almost all parents with young children or teenagers. For families with special needs children, it can be a difficult time. Routines are drastically changed for most students during June, July and August. Most children have almost three months away from school.

Families can plan ahead for the summer by creating consistent routines for a child with ASD (autism spectrum disorders). Next week’s article will focus on how to organize a routine for a summer at home.
