When Stuart Chaifetz sent his 10-year-old son to New Jersey's Horace Mann Elementary School wearing a hidden audio recorder, he couldn't have predicted what he would uncover.
Akian, who has Autism, returned with a tape containing hours of apparent verbal and emotional abuse from his classroom aide and teacher -- whom Chaifetz identifies as "Jodi" and "Kelly" -- a recording which his father later published on YouTube.

At various points in the audio recording, you hear the 10-year-old, almost fully non-communicative autistic boy being told to "shut your mouth" and that he "is such a bastard."
And as if that weren't bad enough, his teachers also talk about drinking wine and tell Akian Chaifetz that he won't be seeing his father anytime soon, to which the youngster responds by sounding as if he is going to burst into tears with disappointment and fear.
After Stuart Chaifetz showed the audio recording to school administrators, one aide was fired, but at least two other adults can be heard on the tape, and that is why Chaifetz is taking his case public. He has stated ""To this end, I seek a full and public apology from all those adults who were in my son's class for what they did to him," writes on his website. "It is also far past time that these issues are allowed to be hidden from public view."

No teacher who bullies a child, especially one with special needs, should be allowed to keep their job in the field. With all the evidence against Kelly Altenburg, this petition seeks either her resignment or the termination of any position at Cherry Hill Schools.

The wiring came as a reaction to accusations from the school that his son Akian was having "violent outbursts,"including hitting his teacher and teacher's aide -- claims that Chaifetz says are simply against his son's "sweet and non-violent" nature.
To Chaifetz's shock, Akian, a student with Autism, returned with a tape containing hours of verbal and emotional abuse from his classroom aide and teacher, which the father documented and published in an emotional YouTube video.

April 7, 2012, The New York Times, published the story, The Autism Wars by Amy Harmon. The title was intriguing. Just what would The Times consider an autism war? After reading it, I gathered that the fight is over the definition: Are the current criteria too board? Are we still missing kids? Is it over-diagnosing or under-diagnosing?
Amy Harmon is described here as “a national correspondent for The New York Times who has written extensively on autism.” Extensively on autism? I’m curious why someone who supposedly has a lot of background on autism is content to open her article with this paragraph:
“THE report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that one in 88 American children have an autism spectrum disorder has stoked a debate about why the condition’s prevalence continues to rise. The C.D.C. said it was possible that the increase could be entirely attributed to better detection by teachers and doctors, while holding out the possibility of unknown environmental factors. “

This is being distributed to call attention to the torture and abuse perpetrated by the Judge Rotenberg Center against people with severe disabilities, all in the name of treatment. The footage aired on 10 April 2012, the same date that this footage of Andre McCollins was shown in open court after repeated attempts by the JRC's lawyers to prevent the video from ever being seen by the public.
Miracle Mineral Supplement (MMS) is being touted on the Internet as a natural antibiotic and cure-all for a wide range of diseases and afflictions: colds and flu (including swine flu), malaria, cancer, "HIV & AIDS," fungus, and, more recently, autism. But MMS is actually a synthetic industrial chemical - it is a concentrated (28%) chlorine bleach - sodium chlorite. When MMS is "activated," it creates CLO2, chlorine dioxide, a very strong chemical oxidizer and bleaching agent. CLO2 is the active molecule in many water purification systems. It does kill germs, but it is toxic. If you ingest it in the concentrations recommended, it can cause you direct harm.

Because CLO2 is a chemical oxidizer (called a "free radical") it depletes vitamin C and causes oxidative stress. Putting it another way, the vitamin C and other antioxidants in our body get depleted in their attempts to detoxify CLO2; vitamin C and other antioxidants are our "free radical scavengers." The instructions provided with MMS specifically warn people not to take vitamin C while they are taking MMS because vitamin C "interferes" with it. This is a red flag that MMS is a toxic chemical, since vitamin C is our primary detoxification agent. Vitamin C depletion is extremely dangerous: it is the bulwark of our immune system, and it is needed for dozens of other body functions.
"Activated" MMS contains elemental chlorineDespite the claims of its "inventor" Jim Humble that MMS is elemental chlorine free, the fact of the matter is that when CLO2 is created in water, it immediately reacts with the water to create elemental chlorine and hypochlorous acid. Commercial bleaching operations that use only CLO2 end up with elemental chlorine in the processing tanks and organic chlorine compounds in their wastewater. (Thornton, page 321-322) What does this mean to you?

The research is published in the journal Psychoneuroendocrinology, this April which is also National Autism month.
In the first study to look at the physical and psychological well-being of these carers, psychologists Dr Mark Wetherell, Dr Mark Moss and PhD researcher Brian Lovell also discovered higher levels of C-reactive protein in the carers, a marker of inflammation that is linked to increased risk of developing coronary heart disease and diabetes.
Dr Wetherell said: "Parents of children with autism face tremendous physical, financial, emotional and social pressures and these can lead to prolonged activation of stress responses which might place them at greater risk of adverse health
Candidate Obama on Autism …“Many insurance companies have failed to assume their responsibilities. Individuals with autism are routinely denied insurance benefits for their treatments. As President, I will appoint a Federal ASD Coordinator, an “Autism Czar” to oversee and coordinate a nationwide effort to deal proactively with ASD. This effort will include diverse but credible research, treatment, personal care/assistance and family support and will work with existing national and state organizations and taskforces. We need to ensure thatcombating autism, once and for all, receives the recognition and priority it deserves at the highest level of government. This appointee will also have a mandate to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles that may be delaying implementation of important measures and will ensure that all federal funds are being spent in a manner that prioritizes results. We need to build effective communication and collaboration among federal, state and local agencies. Right now, our government is just trying to keep up and, as any family who faces autism will tell you, we are not even doing that. What we know and what we have seen is that America can and must do more.”
