There is never enough funding to provide services for these needy adults and they can’t speak for themselves. Luckily Eden has been able to set up its own work centers, transportation and some group homes with the help of hardworking Eden board members, parents and the community and DD. Persistence is the key.
It’s great that school systems are providing education up to the age of 21, but what happens after that? Luckily for me and other parents at Eden Autism Services, we do have some services and activities that have been fought for and fundraised for with community support.
